48 Quick Thoughts on Songwriting
We love to build music into our transmedia franchises, so here are 48 thoughts on songwriting via Nicholas Tozier
- a flaw in a song should not threaten your self-worth
- collaboration leads to self-discovery
- seduce all of the listener’s senses whenever possible
- if it feels unsettling…
Some projects I was involved in…
I assisted producer and engineer, Gavin Murphy on this record with Sean McNeill. I learned so much from Gavin during that time. Check it out on iTunes ! My favorite song is “Your Great Love”.
I was an assistant at Ante Up Studios and helped out with this album as well. Gentlemen Hall is insanely good band that I’m confident we’ll be seeing much more of in the future. Here’s the iTunes and here you can get it for FREE !!!
If need any mixing done or are looking for co-songwriters, feel free to contact me.

Using Teams & Networking in the Music Business
Hey everybody, I haven’t blogged for awhile so I thought I’d throw up a few thoughts.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the use of teams and networking in the music business and just how important they are. First let’s talk about teams. By teams I mean groups of people working together to produce a final product that is commercially viable, artistic, original, and lucrative. I see so many artists today that are nervous or don’t want to work with producers, songwriters, engineers, image consultants, or mangers etc. because they think it means they’re selling out or won’t be as original or because they’ll make less money. That’s silly. Get a team and aim higher.
Don’t take this information just from me. Look at the music business. Look at album credits!!! Notice that almost all major label or successful albums have a long list of people that put it together. This does not have to be just because they are signed and have more resources and connections. The average/struggling/up-and-coming artist can and NEEDS to do this too! It will only strengthen your product and it will force you to network and learn from other people which will in turn make you a more wise, more skilled, and more versatile artist.
I could continue on this subject for awhile but I’m going to keep it short. Artists and anyone trying to be successful in the business… Get out and meet people. Use songwriters. Use producers. Use mixing and mastering engineers. Find people who are young, hungry, and ambitious like you and work with them. You’ve got nothing to lose. Everyone you meet now will be with you on your way up, at the top, and when your on your way down while the next wave of music makers rises.
On a side note, here’s a few artists to look out for:
No surpise with those last two. But while your at it.. check out the credits for each of these artist ;)
Here’s places to find credits:
